The One Where We Talk About The Industry (And Why It's A Mess Right Now) 💣

So this is going out on Sunday rather than last Friday as planned. This required a lot more research than my typical blog and I've been out of the house more than I was supposed to be, so I didn't have the time to tidy it up until this morning!

Now, despite my own disabilities, my workload remains the same and I'm doing my damndest to keep up. If you saw my recent post about why you should be signed up to this newsletter, I'm sure you will have gathered that there may be things I want to discuss that I might not be able to discuss on my socials or especially my sub sites. Which, side note, do you have any idea how frustrating it is knowing that people pay money to see and hear me uncensored and yet I still have to check myself? So that's what today's post is all about, and I'm sure I'm only going to cover the tip of the iceberg here. There are a lot of different problems across different sites that I want you to be aware of as a supporter.

Let's start with my fave and least problematic site.
I love LF for so many reasons as a creator that honestly you as a customer won't notice or be affected by and don't have to worry about. But please know that BTS it is the most ergonomic to use and the fastest to upload to.
Pros:
Strict Privacy & Security: It offers strong content protection, customizable watermark options, and the ability to ban specific geographic regions (including entire states) from viewing profiles.
Integrated Traffic: Unlike strictly subscription-based platforms, creators benefit from the site's global video store, which allows users to search for specific content.
I'm still allowed to post BDSM, bondage, and gags!
Shoutouts are a great mini custom idea!
Cons:
I just learnt that you can't see subscription bundles on page, that I have to send them in a mass DM only. So you're missing out on easy deals!
Pics don't fill the screen.
Strict payment options, a pain for customers.
Lower traffic.
I can't post pics/vids of my pets anymore.
Won't let me post my email or contact info.
Pros:
Lots of traffic, lots of creators.
Easy to pay with any card.
Cons:
Lack of security and privacy.
I can only schedule posts up to one year (Loyalfans has let me schedule my posts more than 4 years in advance!).
OF makes up its own rules as to what I can post, which means a lot of my BDSM and gagged content is now being removed or won't let me post.
Won't let me have my website mentioned in the credits of my films!
Could easily get banned at any moment for anything.
Pros:
It's a clean looking site that's easy to use.
Cons:
It's grey as to what is or isn't Taboo and what is and isn't allowed on the platform.
They are a nightmare for selling store items. Most people want to buy used items such as panties, but you are no longer allowed to mention that the items are used, which leads to much price confusion for the customer. Especially if they are new to MV.
I can't mention my email or my website.

Pros:
Large customer and studio traffic.
I've mainly had a positive experience with the support team bar one bad experience in 6 years.
Cons:
They take 40% of what the creator makes.
They allow for far too many chargebacks, meaning the creator makes a loss.
They are constantly pissing off creators online and ignoring suggestions on bug fixes.
They won't allow many of my clips because they insist that I need a separate model release form for myself when I wear a wig or use a voice over of my voice modified. As they don't believe it's me lol.
So some of those cons won't affect you directly as a customer, right? It doesn't have to matter to you that one website takes a creator twice as long to upload a film as it does to another site, or if the creator is being paid less on one site compared to another despite it being the same video. But if you're drawn to that creator by liking their look, or film style, or maybe you just like their personality and you want to show support, then how these platforms treat the model/studio should be important to you. You're most likely being affected indirectly, and your wallet could be too!
Why Loyalfans Works Best For Me (And You)
Since Loyalfans is fast to upload to, it's my first place to drop any content. As I can schedule years in advance, that saves worry for if I get sick or am unwell for a while, as I know that the content is scheduled and I'm covered. As the site allows me to have BDSM without major restrictions, that means I can have more posts there than anywhere else. They allow me to have Mr. F on there without having to do stacks of paperwork and release forms – that's why it's the only place you can get my duo films without buying from me privately. The site is ergonomic and easy to add tags and cross post to my socials, which means I can advertise in several ways, and you can easily find my content. It creates the thumbnail and advertisement video, saving me work. They only take 20 percent.
Which all together saves me time, earns me more, and as they're good to me it means I can be even better for you.
Compare This To My Typical Day With Onlyfans
I go to upload my latest BDSM video having no idea whether it will pass inspection or not (hello anxiety). I spend twice as long waiting for it to upload. If I want a thumbnail or ad video I have to make it myself – I don't have the time available for that. If I already have a year's worth of content (I have one post a day), then I have to remind myself somehow that I haven't added that video to OF yet. My ADHD memory is already not happy with that. It will only post to X as a few lines of description and a link, so not even a photo.
They still take 20% of any sub. There's no shop for me to add it to, so it has to be free on my wall or if I want to sell it as well I'll have to do the whole upload process again as a separate mass DM.
And then a few days later OF will inform me that it violates their obscure T&Cs and they've already removed it.
Thanks OF. I've lost time I could have used elsewhere, and if anyone bought that PPV they've been fleeced of the cost, and I have lost out on income.
With OF sucking so much, it hardly incentivises me to post as much there, or take the time to create new content for the site. That being said, if you still prefer that site I do have a year's worth of content scheduled on there for now, but I would really like to encourage you to move to a site that actually works for the creators.
Rapid Fire: Things To Remember No Matter What Site You're On
DO NOT ASK TO MEET UP! Don't even allude to it! If you do this you risk yourself getting banned from the site, but you can also get that creator banned too. Some of us rely heavily on that income. Please remember that it would be the same as getting us fired from our job.
Amazon now shows addresses and doxes creators. Now I still use one as I don't live anywhere near my PO box which is what my Amazon is linked to. I'd prefer gifters to send via Throne where possible. But in case you wondered why most Amazon wishlists disappeared overnight.
Unless anything has changed recently, the site "That's Kinki" should be avoided at all costs due to its age allowance of "Age 13 above" allowed on their site. Yuck!
Liquids and food and drink hypocrisy on sites like Manyvids. They are more than happy to push SFW videos where certain creators are allowed to talk about their favourite foods and even alcohol. However I've had videos removed just for mentioning a cup of tea!
Taboo has been removed from a lot of sites and is still getting removed as new laws come into effect. Use of CP, or even language that alludes to it, is being removed. The UK has introduced stringent measures to regulate adult content under the Online Safety Act 2023. All platforms hosting pornographic content for UK users must use "highly effective" age verification to block under-18s, and new laws have criminalized specific types of harmful material and increased accountability for tech executives. The UK government has expanded bans on harmful and misogynistic pornography. Recent amendments make it illegal to possess or publish:
"Barely legal" content: Pornography depicting adults roleplaying as children.
Step-incest: Pornography showing sexual acts between step- and foster-family relations.
Strangulation/Suffocation: Depictions of women being choked or suffocated. I personally think this is already affecting where I can and can't publish gagged content as well.
Publication of this content carries maximum prison sentences ranging from two to five years.
Cyberflashing is now illegal following changes introduced by the Online Safety Act.
Twitter (X) is suppressing all sex workers no matter how SFW they make their accounts. This means we don't get seen by many of our actual followers, and we won't get seen or pushed to new potential followers at all.
Mass Rollout: Half of all U.S. states have enacted laws requiring commercial adult websites to implement strict age-verification measures (such as submitting government IDs or facial scans) to prevent minors from accessing explicit content. This has massively affected my income as well as thousands of other sex workers, as the customer base is too paranoid to show their IDs.
AI is proving extremely problematic in multiple ways. I'll have to write a whole blog on that alone.
Reddit is becoming increasingly easy to get banned even if you are advertising SFW content such as clothed modelling shots.
Discussing Payments On Sites Other Than Email: BE CAREFUL
Believe me when I tell you that creators/studios don't want to take comms off site unless they have to. If you are talking to a creator that you know is busy and fulfils customs on a regular basis, it's highly unlikely that she's going to try to scam you. If they ask you to email them about payment options, it's so they can discuss options openly without BIG BROTHER watching. If you straight out ask a creator on OF if you can pay for a custom via PayPal, you've now just risked both yourself and the creator getting banned.
I highly recommend doing one of two things moving forward in regards to purchasing customs or otherwise:
Option One: Contact the creator via their website or email if you already know it. Every creator has a website that they pay for and have to maintain and update with relevant information. It's always worth checking there first to see if they're fully booked, on vacation, or seeing if there is anything else you need to know like shoot levels. They will also most likely have a page containing their rates/fees/tributes which might also suggest payment options. By checking all of this first you will be saving a lot of email tennis in the pre-comms and believe me that this will earn you a fast pass to becoming a fave customer of mine. By contacting the creator directly you will also be saving on any commission fees from other websites, so you could be saving an added 20-40%!
Option Two: If you are new to ordering customs, or maybe just new to working with a certain creator and you're not sure if they are reliable or not, then you can do this to get an established relationship first. Do a little research – I recommend this anyway. See if they're busy online, posting regularly, adding content/clips, talking in comments. That can be a good sign that they take their job seriously and can be trusted with a deposit. Check their sites – trust me, they will have links everywhere they can post them! Find out if they are on C4S, MV, I Want Clips, anywhere you can order a custom through the site. Most of these sites have a third party holding a customer's money until the creator uploads the custom, which can really ease the anxiety of a new customer especially if the custom is on the expensive side. However, do be aware that you are most likely being charged the site's commission on top, so it will be a bit pricier. But you can think of this as a safety tax for you as a first time buyer. Then when everything is well after the first custom, you should feel far more confident contacting that creator directly and purchasing without the added website fee.

Now this is a lot of info, really isn't it? And I haven't actually scratched the surface of any of them. So take this episode as a brief. The Big Question: Is BDSM Pornography Illegal In The UK?
Consensual BDSM pornography between adults is generally legal to view, provided it does not depict acts that appear to be life-threatening, likely to cause serious injury to intimate body parts, or non-consensual. The key factors are whether the acts appear realistic and whether they fall within the definition of "extreme pornography" under the 2008 Act.
But honestly, I personally feel that the UK is once again leaving things especially grey so they can decide on the fly whether something is "extreme" or not in their court of law. This means I've already had to issue several suggestions to my custom customers who ask for taboo, BDSM, or anything non-vanilla.
